This showcase CSCMP event features a panel of top supply chain executives from some of the most influential companies in the world, headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area. Each panelist will present and justify two supply chain predictions for the coming year. Each panelist will have their prediction voted on by fellow panelists and the audience, using red and green paddles provided for the interactive and dynamic interchange. Audiences have rated this event as fun and entertaining as well as highly informative.  The intent is to share some bold ideas and have fun doing so.

San José City Councilmember Sam Liccardo chairs the Council's Transportation and Environment Committee, serves as Vice Chair of the Community and Economic Development Committee and Co-chairs the Envision San Jose 2040 General Plan Update Task Force. Sam also holds leadership positions on several regional agencies, as:

  • President of the Cities Association of Santa Clara County (CASCC)
  • Board Member of the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC)
  • Board Member and past Chair of the Valley Transportation Authority (VTA), and
  • Executive Board Member of the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG)

Sam also serves as an upper-division political science lecturer at San José State University. Prior to winning election to City Council in 2006, Sam served as a prosecutor of sexual assault and child exploitation crimes in the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office. He previously worked as a federal prosecutor, and at private law firms, and worked in the community tutoring homeless children, serving on boards of several affordable housing organizations, and advocating for a successful countywide transit ballot measure in 2000.

Sam graduated from Georgetown magna cum laude in 1991. Two years later, he enrolled at Harvard Law School and Harvard's Kennedy School of Government, graduating cum laude with a law degree and a master's degree in public policy. Sam returned to the Bay Area in 1996.
